Corbett PeaceQuilt

By Jeffery

The Corbett Peace Quilt was a school-wide project in 1997. Each class made one square for the quilt. This drawing is the center of the square made by Mrs. Tortorice's class. Each class talked about friendship, love, peace, and getting along peacefully. Then we designed our squares. The quilt has 26 squares from classrooms and one square from our computer lab technician. It is hung on a portable frame so we can move it around the school. (The three squares in the middle at the top say Corbett Peace Quilt.) The quilt is now hanging on a large rack in the school's lobby. We are going to enter the quilt in the Pima County Fair in April 1998. Wish us luck! The Pima County Fair has come and gone for this year and guess what? We won! The Corbett Peace Quilt now has 3 ribbons attached to it forever. We won Best of ClassBest of Show in theYouth Division, and a 1st place ribbon.
